“I know it’s possible for our Hard Rock and Heavy Metal world to find the prominence that has been lacking for a number of years.” After all, Rock is the genre that never really went away, according to Biersack’s biggest inspiration, Alice Cooper. In a modern music landscape where Rock has taken a backseat, a spirit like that can reignite mainstream attention for such iconic music, says Biersack. Cameron’s character embodied with perfection what Rock and Roll used to be to the public consciousness, rekindling a nostalgia for the genre among those who watch the show. In the series, Cameron portrayed Andy’s biggest fan, a run that ends with them taking a picture together - sadly, their last. I hope it will be done in a way that is extremely respectful to the memory of Cameron.” If we do a second season, which I think everyone wants to do, I know that Ash will treat his character with great respect - however that can be done moving forward. “He gave such an incredible performance and, in the show, so much of the storyline hinges on his character. “He just was such a light on the set, and the times that I was in his presence, he was just such a wonderful person,” Biersack explains. Still, any talk of a second season is overshadowed by the enormous heartbreak over Cameron Boyce, one of Paradise City ’s stars who died of epilepsy at just 20 years old.

While the series only released at the end of March, Paradise City has already found considerable success. The series is packed with familiar faces - Bella Thorne plays a seductive bassist (Biersack was particularly impressed by a scene where she sings in the studio with him) Olivia Culpo is Gretchen, Johnny’s loving girlfriend The Sopranos star Drea de Matteo takes the role of Johnny’s charismatic agent and his manager Elias is played by Mark Boone Junior, with whom Andy also bonded off-screen.

Now, the long-awaited TV show gives viewers the opportunity to dive deeper into both Johnny and the characters who surround him. Created by Ash Avildsen, Paradise City expands on the 2017 film American Satan, of which Johnny was a central character. īiersack is at the centre of the show as Johnny, a rockstar trying to navigate his newfound sobriety while dealing with mistakes from the past. Seated in what he calls his “Batcave”, his glow is palpable, a trait that carries over into his recent performance in his new series Paradise City. He gives time to his fans, and knows how much the fans appreciate him.Andy Biersack appears on the Zoom screen surrounded by black walls and collector’s items - action figures, masks and sports uniforms. Andy is a hero in so many people's eyes, and he helps without really trying. He can help with what he needs to, and he can try to help with things that might not. He makes time for his fans, and helps them with their problems. I don't want to be like Andy because he is famous, I want to be like him because he is able to look past all of the bad things in his life, and make things better for his fans. Andy might not be able to say that he wasn't bullied, but he can say that it's better now. Now Andy knows that he can use his music to help those who need it, and that's what he does. He isn't able to say that the bullies can't hurt him anymore, because it does still hurt, even years after its happened. Andy was bullied in school, and he can talk about it like there is nothing wrong.
How I relate to Andy is that he is able to talk about what happened in his past, and is able to let people know that not everything is perfect. We are able to say that we have been hurt by so many people. How I relate to Andy, is that we both can talk about our pasts. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love, so take many pictures, laugh too much and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is one minute of happiness you'll never get back." -Andy Biersack. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it gets harder every time. "As we grow up we learn that even the person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. He knows that not everything goes the way you might want it to, but that doesn't stop him from saving people. Andy changed the world with his music because he knows about being bullied, heartbreak and hatred.
